About the Event
This class marries two Asian movement arts:
Qigong and Yoga. Both, Qigong (similar to tai chi)
and yoga promote movement of energy in the practioner. The instructor chose to combine
these styles of movement because the yoga is a great way to warm up for the Qigong postures
and strengthens and opens the lower body more than Qigong.
The student will learn how to relax in this practice and discover the benefits of a moving
meditation which can result in pain relief associated with joint issues, tight soft tissue and a
feeling of rejuvenation, clarity of mind and general well-being.
Bio:
Jayanti loves and teaches alignment style yoga. Whether it be a more hatha style or slow flow,
she believes in aligning the body and breath with yogic tenants such as compassion, non-
stealing and truth as she believes this is the way to live a healthier, more holistic life. She is
passionate about creating a safe practice for everyone where the student can work according
to his/her/their physical and mental capacity in any given moment. Jayanti believes in the
magic of meditation and freeing the mind and teaches other Eastern ways of moving such as
Qigong.
She has been teaching for 14 years and practicing for about 35 years. Jayanti holds an E500 RYT
and YACEP certification and has also led teacher training courses and meditation retreats.
